CUSTOM BUILDING A PC
For a gaming pc we always recommend you spend as much as you can on the graphics card as it does 90-95% of the work in gaming. A good graphics card is also very good for video edting computers.
An SSD drive is approx. 4 times faster than a normal hard drive. Although a 128gig SSD can fill up very quickly, make certain you have a 2nd hard drive for extra storage.
We recommend 8 Gigs of RAM for gaming computers and 16gigs of RAM for Photo & Video Editing Systems.
For optimum STABILITY we recommend 1600 Mhz RAM. 1866Mhz RAM and 2133Mhz RAM increase overall system performance only marginally.
We DO NOT recommend RAZER Keyboards & Mice Click Here for more Info
We decided to test the difference between 1600mhz, 1866mhz and 2133mhz RAM to see what really is the difference. Is it worth the extra money to go to so called "High Performance RAM" or not? Our test system was an ASUS Sabertooth Motherboard with an i7-4770k @4.2Ghz and a GTX760. The benchmark program we used was 3Dmark11 as it is a 64bit program (Other benchmarks are only 32bit and therefore do not utilise the full amount of RAM) read more
Extra RAM will help in keeping multiple windows open at the same time, certain programs also benefit from more RAM like large files in Adobe Photoshop. Upgrading the graphics card will enhance performance for gaming & upgrading the CPU will speed up the system even more in general usage .Please bear in mind that the graphics card does about 90-95% of the work in gaming. Adding a lot more RAM will not benefit a gaming computer. read more
The following tests were conducted to see how much difference a RAM (memory) really makes in general system performance. Our test system was ASRock Extreme 4 Motherboard with an i7-4770 and a GTX660. We started with 8 gig of RAM then doubled it to 16gigs and then doubled it again to 32 gigs. The benchmark program we used was Passmark PerformanceTest read more
